ROBESON with Davóne Tines & The Truth

For the Chicago premiere of ROBESON: A Black Classical Chamber Music Classical Americana Electro-Gospel Acid Trip, Davóne Tines & The Truth teamed up with D-Composed for a special one-night-only event at The Harris Theater for Music & Dance.

Reimagining Paul Robeson's repertoire, Tines and his band The Truth—pianist John Bitoy and sound artist Khari Lucas—take listeners on a musical journey as Tines explores his connection to the legacy of Paul Robeson.
The Chicago premiere featured new arrangements by Ahmed Al Abaca.

Featured ensemble members included Caitlin Edwards on violin, Khelsey Zarraga on violin, Wilfred Farquharson on viola, and Tahirah Whittington on Cello.
