A Love Letter to Chicago: Green Line Performing Arts Center
In collaboration with the University of Chicago’s Arts & Public Life, D-Composed made their debut for a sold-out performance at The Green Line Performing Arts Center.
The special edition performance served as a love letter to the city of Chicago. The set list was expertly curated and highlighted composers who used Chicago as their creative sanctuary. Composers featured included Tomeka Reid, Florence Price, Joel Thompson, Daniel Bernard Roumain, and an arrangement of Chance the Rapper’s Sunday Candy, arranged by Artistic Director Danielle Taylor.
On this evening, D-Composed debuted their first-ever commissioned piece featuring Joel Thompson’s arrangement of Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Gonna Come.”
The Featured quartet of the evening comprised guest artists Melissa White and Catie Brown, as well as Danielle Taylor and Tahirah Whittington.
