Family Edition 2018

Stony Island Arts Bank made the perfect setting for attendees of all ages at the first-ever D-Composed Family Edition. Throughout the afternoon, the audience enjoyed a taste of the finest works of black composers with works from William Grant Still, Shelley Washington, and Jessie Montgomery.  To keep the affair concise and easily digestible, each featured work could be no longer than 5 minutes.

Our younger guests of the hour were properly entertained with custom coloring sheets created by nine local artists.

Following the event, attendees could engage in a brief show and tell where they could try out the instruments for themselves.

Musicians of the afternoon included Caitlin Edwards and Kyle Dickson on Violin, Danielle Taylor on Viola, and Tahirah Whittington on Cello.
